Y12 A2 Media Homework - Promotional Package Analysis
For your A2 coursework you are creating a promotional package for either the release of new film (film trailer, poster, magazine cover) or the release of a new album (music video, digipak, magazine advert). To achieve a high grade for your production your different products need to clearly link together. In order to develop your understanding of how media producers create branded links in their promotional material you need to analyse a promotional package for a relevant product (film or album).
Consider how the different products link together, and how these links are created. Try to make your work as visual as possible. Your analysis should be presented on the Genre Research page of your blog.
Film Trailer
Consider how the trailer for a film from your chosen genre links to the poster for the film, and any other promotional material you can find (e.g. websites, magazine covers). How clearly do the different products link together? How are those links created? Is there a clear sense of brand identity? Consider the use of fonts, colours, images, language.
Music Video
Consider how a music video from your chosen genre links to the album cover design, and any other promotional material you can find (e.g. adverts, websites). How clearly do the different products link together? How are those links created? Is there a clear sense of brand identity? Consider the use of fonts, colours, images, language.
