Summarise the key findings of your research into similar products (trailers, music videos, ancillary products).  Explain what you have found out about conventions of form and genre, and the use of technical elements.  

Try to make your summary as visual as possible, and present it in a format you haven’t used yet.

Y12 Homework - Analysis of Promotional Package

Analyse a promotional package for a similar product to your coursework production.

Film Trailer Brief - analyse a film trailer, poster, and other promotional materials (e.g. magazine covers, websites, etc.).

Music Video Brief - analyse a music video, album cover, and other promotional materials (e.g. adverts, merchandise, websites).

How do the products create brand identity?  How are fonts, colour, language, mise-en-scene, images used?  How do the different products link together?  How do they appeal to the target audience?

Introduction to the Advanced Portfolio

Evaluate one music video and one film trailer from the list below using the assessment criteria.  What have students done well?  How could they have improved their production work?

As you evaluate the production work consider which brief you think your would find most interesting, and would be able to complete a successful product in relation to.

Summarise your ideas about the strengths and weaknesses of the students' work into a table.

Once you have completed that, using one of the products compare that to a professional music video or trailer.  In what ways are they similar?  How could the student's work be more professional?
